Young people are called on to promote their talents by entering competitions

GITEGA March 26th (ABP) – The Francine Niyonsaba foundation, in association with the Vénuste Niyongabo foundation and the Charles Nkazamyampi foundation, organized socio-sporting activities on Saturday March 23, at the Gitega aerodrome (central Burundi). under the theme: “Girls and women, we are capable”, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

That activity was organized as part of the celebration of International Women’s Day. The Minister responsible for Sports, Ambassador Gervais Abayeho, enhanced that activity with his presence, as well as Ambassador Francine Niyonsaba, international athlete Charles Nkazamyampi, certain executives of the National Olympic Committee (NOC), the director of the ‘Education in Gitega and others.

Based on her past, athlete Francine Niyonsaba called on young people to promote their talents by participating in competitions because, she said, little by little we can achieve our goal. She urged parents to support their children in their talents instead of discouraging them.

Speaking, Minister Abayeho strongly encouraged the athletes who took part in that competition. He finally urged athletes who were not up to par to better prepare for future competitions because, he said, practice makes perfect. He thanked the organizers of that competition whose objective was to support talented young people.

Note that the children (boys and girls) who took part in that competition completed a one kilometer race. The under-18s (boys and girls) did 4 kilometers, while the adults (boys and girls) did 6 kilometers. In each category, the Francine Niyonsaba Foundation awarded prizes to the first three, including 4 people of advanced age who participated in that competition.
