BUJUMBURA March 4th (ABP) – The CNDD-FDD party organized on Thursday, February 29, 2024, an ecumenical prayer of thanksgiving at the national office of that party under the theme: “Bagumyabanga, in unity, let us take action which tie us for an emerging Burundi in 2040″, referring to the biblical passage taken from Matthew 7:7-11.

That prayer saw the participation of the presidential couple, the secretary general of the CNDD-FDD party, the Speaker of the national assembly and senior state executives, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

In his words for the occasion, the Head of State first thanked the Almighty for having kept Burundi during that past month. He advised the Bagumyabanga who live in the city of Bujumbura to engage in income-generating activities by practicing agriculture and livestock, in addition to their usual activities, in order to improve their living conditions.

According to President Ndayishimiye, those who wish to live in good conditions must make efforts because, he said, God does not like lazy people. “We have forgotten the gift that God gave us, come and remain in the covenant. God gave to each according to his ability. He added: Let us have the heart and desire to be with God,” he stressed.

For his part, the secretary general of the CNDD-FDD party, Mr. Révérien Ndikuriyo, said that the month of February was marked by many blessings, adding, however, that that prayer comes the day after an attack perpetrated by a terrorist group, having cost the lives of innocent people in Buringa in Gihanga commune in Bubanza province.

He therefore asked the Bagumyabanga who took part in that prayer to observe a minute of silence in memory of the victims of that deadly attack. On that occasion, he invited the Bagumyabanga to contribute to safeguarding peace and security. Mr. Ndikuriyo did not fail to urge the Bagumyabanga to get down to self-development work with a view to supporting the sustainable development of the country because, he clarified, “We cannot achieve a better future if we don’t work together.”

He said that during the month of February, he was able to visit 451 zones of the country. Maintaining peace and security and the strategies to be implemented to promote socio-economic development were each time at the center of discussions between the Bagumyabanga and the secretary general of the CNDD-FDD party. Mr. Ndikuriyo noted that in all the areas visited, the Bagumyaganga are committed to supporting the vision of the President of the Republic to have the country emerge in 2040 and developed in 2060.

For his part, Pastor Isidore Mbayahaga, in his teaching, pointed out to the highest authorities of the Republic that God blesses the work of our hands, also reminding them that prayers are not enough to develop the country. According to Pastor Mbayahaga, God will bless the work done by the hands. So, he said, “Pray and work hard and we will go far to the country we want.”
