KAYANZA January 16th  (ABP) – The governor of Kayanza province (northern Burundi), Colonel Rémy Cishahayo, in the company of municipal administrators, joined the Christians of Maramvya on Sunday January 14 in Sunday prayer which coincided with the crusade to close the year 2023 and exchange New Year’s greetings, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

In his message of greeting to the Christians present at the prayer, Governor Cishahayo called on the population of Kayanza in general and the faithful of the Pentecost Church, Maramvya Mission, in particular, to be characterized by unity, especially avoiding to be disoriented by teachings with a divisionist tendency.

He also informed that Burundians and Rwandans are prohibited from crossing the Burundian-Rwandan border, except those who reside in one of those two countries and who want to return home.

“We love the Rwandan people, and no conflict lies between Burundians and Rwandans, but Rwandan leaders want to torpedo the sovereignty of our country,” he said.

He took the opportunity to call on the Christians of the Pentecostal Church of Maramvya to promote the breeding of pigs and rabbits with a view to allowing families to self-develop and generate foreign currency for the country.
