Inauguration of the presidential palace located in Bugera village

KIRUNDO, November 7th (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye, inaugurated on Sunday, November 5, 2023, the presidential palace located in Bugera village, in Kirundo commune and province (northern Burundi).

After the presentation of the work carried out by the engineer who monitored the construction site to the father of the nation, the Head of State indicated that even if the beautiful palace is already built, it is a foundation because the country we are planning towards emerging Burundi in 2040 and developed in 2060, the dates by which many development achievements are expected, he said.

He promised that all provinces of Burundi must have their presidential palaces. He said he is leading a fight against poverty, monitoring the country’s authorities who embezzle public funds.

President Ndayishimiye also informed that the money recovered is invested in the construction of palaces and other works of public interest. He took the opportunity to ask the executives present at the inauguration of the Bugera palace to see the beauty of the infrastructure resulting from the embezzled funds and to break away from embezzlement.

He affirmed that he will never stop exposing the evils of economic malfeasance or embezzlement. He thanked those who built that presidential palace, specifying that they were all soldiers and police, while civilians had provided construction materials.
