CANKUZO September 7th (ABP) – The Ministry of Public Health and the Fight against AIDS granted on September 5, 2023, kits consisting of bicycles, mobile phones, megaphones, boots, torches and others to health workers communities of the Cankuzo province, financed by the World Bank via the Kira project.
In his speech, the director general of resources at the said ministry, Mr. Jean Charles Ntahimpera indicated that this kit was granted to facilitate their activities related to health promotion. According to him, community health workers, in collaboration with mothers of lights, play a big role in raising awareness aimed at promoting public health by helping to treat certain diseases such as malaria, diarrhea, malnutrition and pneumonia.
He specified that since 2012, the ministry has recorded an improvement in vaccination and consultations of patients at health structures and invited them to continue on the same path. Mr. Ntahimpera called on the beneficiaries to use these kits properly and to collaborate with the Health Promotion Technicians and the administration to make their activities much easier.
Note that the same ministry, via the Nkuriza project of the World Bank, provided kitchen utensils such as plates, ladles, basins, mats and cans to facilitate their intervention in training the population in experimentation in the preparation of quality meals in households to combat malnutrition. Toys for children were also donated to health centers.
