Vital’o FC has won the 3rd edition of Nkurunziza Cup

MAKAMBA July 11th (ABP) – The Pax Burundi Foundation, in collaboration with the Burundi Football Federation organized on Saturday July 8, 2023, in Makamba, at the Nkurunziza Peace Park Complex Stadium in Gisenyi, the final of the Nkurunziza Cup championship, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

The ceremonies of that final which opposed Vital’o FC to Flambeau du Centre, began with a long parade of young people and folk dances of groups from different provinces.

The match ended in a score of two goals to nil in favor of Vital’o. The winning team received a cup and an envelope of 12 million Burundi francs, the second team which is Flambeau du Centre obtained an envelope of 10 million Burundi francs while the teams of Aigle noir CS and Rukinzo FC received an envelope of 5 million Burundi francs each.

That Nkurunziza Cup tournament is organized for the third consecutive year in memory of the late President Pierre Nkurunziza.

The second vice president of the senate, Mrs. Denise Nkurunziza, the minister responsible for the interior, the one in charge of sports, that responsible for national education, that of public health and the minister in charge of trade, parliamentarians, other dignitaries and a crow of people from different parts of the country, watched that match which has marked the end of the month dedicated to the late Pierre Nkurunziza.
