BUJUMBURA June 27th (ABP) – The Chief of Staff of the National Defense Force of Burundi (FDNB), General Prime Niyongabo, proceeded, on Monday, June 26, 2023, with the presentation of certificates to 48 graduates of the 8th promotion of the Company Command School, at the end of a five-month training. The ceremonies took place in Bujumbura (economic capital), a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

That training is part of the development of officers during their career. This is one of the important steps in the training of an officer. The command devotes sufficient material and human resources to it to provide quality education, said the commander of the Company Command School, Lieutenant-Colonel Vénuste Nsengiyumva.

The overall objective, he said, is that at the end of the training, the trainee can, upon receipt of a tactical mission, analyze the tactical problem, carry out a situational assessment and propose different solutions, write a company operation order and certain necessary requests, while taking into account the prescriptions of the General Staff technique and the limitations imposed by International Humanitarian Law. The trainee officer must also have knowledge of written and oral communication techniques, all this to help him write official documents and know how to express himself in front of the public and the authorities during the presentations, Lieutenant-Colonel Nsengiyumva said.

The objectives of this module are, among other things, to provide the trainee with command tools, introduce the trainee to military administration techniques and provide him with sufficient language skills.

More concretely, the chief of staff of the National Defense Force of Burundi said the beneficiaries of the training have acquired tools that will allow them to correctly assess situations, to anticipate events in order to better dominate them. That training will also allow them to foresee problems in order to find solutions, to give orders in a clear and coherent language, accessible and understandable to their subordinates.
