GITEGA April 4th (ABP) – The governor of Kayanza (northern Burundi), Rémy Cishahayo accompanied by his chief of staff, his advisers and communal administrators, met on Sunday April 2, 2023, in the premises of Kungoma Bar, the natives of that province residing or working in Gitega (center of the country), to discuss the development and the current situation of their province of origin, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

Addressing residents of Gitega but natives to Kayanza, Mr. Cishahayo focused a lot on the agricultural sector because, according to him, more than 80% of Burundians live from agriculture. He thus called on the natives of Kayanza to embark on the agricultural field in order to increase production. He also urged them to come back in large numbers to invest in that sector in their home province. With regard to the strong projects already implemented and those in progress, the provincial authority of Kayanza spoke of the provincial office inaugurated last December and the construction project of a polytechnic university of Kayanza.

For their part, the natives of Kayanza have undertaken to support the provincial authorities in the implementation of various projects. In order to leave an unforgettable mark, the natives of Kayanza residing in Gitega gave the governor of Kayanza a canvas illustrating the provinces bordering Kayanza and the most remarkable crops in that province.
