Inauguration of constructions with different functionalities

BUJUMBURA April 3rd  (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye, proceeded on Friday, March 31, 2023, to the inauguration of the various constructions namely the FABRIMETAL factory, the social housing of the Mirror district, the Jessy Blessing Company and ITRAPACK packaging bag manufacturing factory, and signed in the latter’s guestbooks.

President Ndayishimiye first visited the Maramvya zone of Mutimbuzi commune in Bujumbura province, where he inaugurated an anonymous steel metal manufacturing plant. All the metal packaging and used metals constitute raw materials used for the manufacture of 120 tons of reinforcing steel per day, we learned.

The Head of State then headed to the Kiyange district of the urban area of Buterere to inaugurate the social housing built by the company Come and See Burundi in partnership with the Burundi Housing Bank (BHB). Those houses differ in their brand and their purchase cost varying between 310 million, 350 million, 400 million, and 500 million Burundian francs for so-called VVIP (very important person) houses, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

The President of the Republic continued his visit to the Ngagara district in the urban commune of Ntahangwa to inaugurate the Jessy Blessing Company, a factory which refines cooking salt whose raw materials are imported from Kenya and Tanzania. This was revealed from the workers of this refinery plant, that the latter started its activities in January 2023 and refines 120 tons per day with a validity period of three years.

In the same district of Ngagara, he finally proceeded to the inauguration of the packaging bag manufacturing plant called ITRAPACK.

The technical adviser to the general management of ITRAPACK, Mr. Richard Kagimbi, told the press that this factory, which has 746 employers, produces 70,000 bags on average per day, while demand is seasonal. He pointed out that the factory has already had the authorization to export its products abroad.
