The IOM has officially handed over the equipment to the communal land services

CIBITOKE March 17th (ABP) – In order to improve the quality of services provided to people in the land sector, IOM-Burundi in collaboration with the ministry in charge of the Interior, granted on Wednesday March 15, 2023, to communal land services, a batch of materials, consisting of computer, office automation and topographic equipment, worth 40,137 US dollars, or 82,517,658 BIF.

According to the Head of Mission of IOM-Burundi, as most of the work of land agents is done on the field, soon another batch of twelve motorcycles will be granted by the same organization to the six communes of Cibitoke province.

For the general manager of Repatriation, Resettlement, and Reintegration of Returnees, Mr. Nestor Bimenyimana, who represented the ministry of the Interior, Community Development and Public Security at that ceremony, that material is intended to regulate or register land properties, in the reintegration program for returnees and displaced persons. He indicated that this material will produce positive effects in the community and in the life of the citizen.

According to the same official, the regulation of the land sector is the pole of the development of the community, if it is well managed and coordinated. Thus, all the beneficiaries of the certificates will have access to loans, this will allow development. Indeed, he explained, the land services will award land certificates equivalent to the title deed that will facilitate access to loan in banks or microfinance.
