RUYIGI March 17th (ABP) – The province of Ruyigi proceeded, on Wednesday, March 15, to the celebration of the international women’s Day usually celebrated on March 8 of each year.

That activity took place in the commune of Kinyinya and attendees included women’s representatives from the various communes of the province, administrative officials and representatives of all NGOs working in the field of the promotion of the rights of Burundian women and girls in that province.

The celebration was an opportunity to open a house built by the women’s forum of Ruyigi province for an indigent woman from Karindo village in the Kinyinya zone and commune. The participants in that celebration then went to the Kinyinya district hospital to provide food and non-food aid to patients bedridden at that hospital. The delegation then went to the Caramata basic school football field to watch a match between young girls from Gisuru and Kinyinya communes.

The second deputy president of the Burundian Senate, Cyriaque Nshimirimana from Ruyigi province, who participated in that celebration, took the opportunity to mobilize and encourage the daughter and wife of Ruyigi to follow in the footsteps of their sisters in the world to take consciousness, to become familiar with one another and to take the lead in digitalization and information technologies.
