BUJUMBURA February 23rd (ABP) – The Cabinet met on Tuesday, February 22, 2023, under the chairmanship of the Head of State, Evariste Ndayishimiye, with 12 items on the agenda including that relating to the National Strategy for integration and socio-economic inclusion of the Batwa for Sustainable Development 2022-2027.

There is then the general report on the status of implementation of the recommendations of the mini-round Table held on December 10, 2021, the bill on the regulations and budget report for the Fiscal Year 2021-2022, the bill on the ratification by the Republic of Burundi of the capital increase of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and International Finance Corporation, the expenditure commitment ceilings for the third quarter of 2022-2023, the draft Ordinance on the creation, missions, organization and operation of the Macroeconomic and Budgetary Framework Committee (CCMB) and the draft Ordinance on the creation, missions, organization and operation of the Steering Committee, the Technical Monitoring Committee and Project Teams for the implementation of the Unified Public Finance Computerization Strategy.

The members of the government also had to analyze the draft law revising the Burundi Mining Code, the draft amendment to contract No. 03/ARCP/2021 relating to Projects for the construction of two run-of-river hydroelectric power stations of rivers Murembwe (MULE 037) with nine MW and Ruvyironza (RUVYI 102) with 1.65 MW under the PPP contract signed between Burundi and SONGA ENERGY, the Memorandum and Motivation Note for the Petroleum Warehouse Construction Project in Burundi, the note relating to the call for expressions of interest for the exploitation of the Musongati nickel deposit, and miscellaneous items.
