CANKUZO January 26th (ABP) – The Prime Minister of the Republic, Mr. Gervais Ndirakobuca, made a trip on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 to Cankuzo province, where he brought together the leaders and the people to listen to their concerns.

In his welcoming address, the governor of the province, Mr. Boniface Banyiyezako, indicated that people go about development work despite the weather variations which threaten some crop fields.

In his speech, the Prime Minister called on the leaders to behave like parents and to work with the respect for the law for the interest of the people without any distinction. Thus, he said: “Leaders who do not keep their responsibilities are to be replaced by another who is capable of it. Today, there is no longer political patronage but rather technical sponsorship. There are those who have not yet changed their mentality. A good leader must serve the people without asking for anything.”

Similarly, added Mr. Ndirakobuca, leaders must serve as an example to the people in the development of cultivable land to increase production. It will even be a solution for price speculation on the markets, according to the Prime Minister.

That person high in authority did not fail to ask the communal administrative officials to support the institution of the ombudsman at the village level, with the materials necessary to better accomplish its mission.

Asked when the construction of the reference hospital in Kigamba commune will be completed, Mr. Ndirakobuca said that the means of the NGO HCR which is committed to it, were consumed before the end of the construction. He promised that the government will take over if those activities are not revived by that NGO.

Regarding the lack of equipment for communal hospitals, Ndirakobuca replied that the order has already been made.
