Visit of the Minister of National Defense and Veterans Affairs to Cibitoke

CIBITOKE January 13th (ABP) – The Minister of National Defense and Veterans Affairs, Mr. Alain Tribert Mutabazi, paid a visit on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 to Mabayi commune of Cibitoke province, in order to meet the people and answer to their concerns.

In his brief introduction, he informed the people about the components and bodies of his ministry, and praised the good collaboration that characterizes the administration, the people and the law enforcement.

Various questions were asked, to which the Minister of Defense gave answers or clarifications. Some locals supplying remote military stations have asked the Minister to be able to benefit from the boots for more protection.

He also reacted to the proposal for a road that could facilitate the supply of soldiers based in the Kibira forest. On both questions, he indicated that he took note of them to see the feasibility, but in the meantime, he asked the people to continue their helping hands with the military. Minister Mutabazi also responded to the question of some soldiers who knock up (impregnate) young girls, urging participants to denounce such cases, which are punishable by law. He took the opportunity to recommend that parents upbring well their children and supervise them. Minister Mutabazi warned soldiers who practice polygamy that once denounced, they will be punished by law.

As for veterans, he encouraged them to team up in cooperatives. Towards the people of Mabayi, he reiterated his request to inform the police about anything that could disrupt security. He ended by calling on the people to strengthen the quadrilogy required in terms of security, for the preservation of peace and security.

The Minister of National Defense did not forget to specify that the military in times of peace are equipped for development activities.
