Flagrance trial against a loincloth fraudster

CIBITOKE December 30th (ABP) – With reference to Article 312 of the Criminal Procedure Code and Article 430 of the Criminal Code, a penal servitude of one year in prison was imposed by the High Court of Cibitoke sitting in a flagrance trial, on Wednesday December 28, 2022, on David Hakizimana and Faradja Ndayishimiye, accused of fraud of 48 loincloths of Congolese origin, a check by ABP revealed.

The 48 loincloths seized go into the public treasury. A certain Jean Ndikumana, whom the Public Prosecutor accused of complicity with the latter, for having sought the taxi-bicycle rider who moved those goods, was acquitted by the Court.

The first two pleaded guilty, while the other defended himself saying that he did not know that the package contained fraudulent loincloths.

Note that the court took decision in accordance with the request of the Public Prosecutor.
