The price of Ndagala has fallen compared to previous months

BUJUMBURA December 20th (ABP) – The fall in the price of dry Ndagala is observed in the various markets of the city of Bujumbura.

At the Cotebu market, a trader of Ndagala, Mr. Niyonkuru Revis, told a check by ABP that this time the price of Ndagala has fallen compared to previous months. He indicated that currently the price varies between 40000 BIF, 35000 BIF and 25000 BIF, depending on the quality. Mr. Niyonkuru specified that the first quality currently costs 40,000 BIF per kilo whereas previously one kilo was bought at 60,000 BIF. The second quality currently costs 35,000 BIF per kilo whereas previously it was bought at 50,000 BIF per kilo. The latest quality is currently bought at 25,000 BIF per kilo whereas it was previously bought at 30,000 BIF per kilo.

At the market of Sion (Kwa Siyoni), a saleswoman of Ndagala, Mrs. Kwizera Zayi, said that during these days, customers are abundant compared to last month, even if the purchasing power is limited, she added.

She indicated that this time the price of one kilo varies between 40,000 BIF, 35,000 BIF, 27,000 BIF, depending on the quality. She specified that the first quality costs 40,000 BIF while the latter cost between 60,000 and 65,000 BIF per kilo. The second quality costs 35,000 BIF while it was bought between 50,000 and 55,000 BIF. The last quality is bought 27,000 BIF while the latter was previously bought at 35,000 BIF. Mrs. Kwizera pointed out that the Ndagala is in abundance thanks to the opening of the lake and the fact that the Tanzanians were able to export the Ndagala to Burundi this time.
