Volunteers in the fight against tuberculosis supported materially

GITEGA December 8th   (ABP) – The Burundi Red Cross granted in the afternoon of on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, bicycles, backpacks, registers, umbrellas, torches and boots to some members of the association of volunteers in the fight against tuberculosis “AVLT” working in the provinces of Gitega, Mwaro and Muramvya.

The provincial secretary of the Burundi Red Cross in Gitega, Mr. Marisasi Félix said that these tools will help those young people to go easily and in time to people with symptoms of tuberculosis in their community in order to transfer them to the nearest sanitary facility. Mr. Marisasi challenged those young people to take those materials carefully and not to sell them anymore.

Volunteer Audrine Irène Nishemezwe, a student at Mwaro University said she welcomes the contributions of members of the Association of Volunteers to Fight Tuberculosis in their communities. She indicated that she will double her efforts to continue to serve her community thanks to the means of displacement that she has benefited from.
