BUBANZA October 22nd (ABP) – 91 directors of basic and post-basic schools, as well as the prefects of studies, recently appointed in Bubanza province (North-West of Burundi), have benefited from capacity building sessions, for two days, i.e., October 19 and 20, on administrative, pedagogical and financial management, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

The check in Bubanza by ABP contacted the Provincial Director of Education (DPE), Claude Badugaritse. The latter indicated that that capacity building session was organized after noting that some new school principals have difficulty in managing staff, in dealing with disciplinary files and in planning activities.

Others are not able to use the monitoring grid for teaching practices and resort to “police visits”. Others do not have sufficient knowledge in financial management.

They also learn the organization and operation of school networks.

Mr. Badugaritse continued to say they provide those school authorities with capacity building sessions in order to sufficiently equip them from early the school year.

It is worth noting that among those 91 directors and prefects of studies, 54 were appointed this year, and 37 last year.
