The Burundi Senate President spoke by videoconference with his Chinese counterpart

GITEGA September 14th (ABP) – The Burundi Senate President, Mr. Emmanuel Sinzohagera, spoke by video-conference with his Chinese counterpart, Mr. Wang Yang. They focused their exchanges, on the one hand, on the cooperation relations between their respective countries; and on the other hand, on the cooperative relations between the institutions of which they are at the head, revealed to the press, Mr. Sinzohagera at the end of the exchanges.

For further clarification, he indicated that the cooperation relations between the two states are good, before recalling that their establishment dates back a long time and that they cover different areas of national life, he added. He cited among others agriculture, infrastructure, energy and health.

The two personalities also reviewed the programs and projects already carried out and others in progress, said the Burundi Senate President.

For more details, activities in progress caught their attention. Those include the modernization of the Melchior Ndadaye international airport, the diversion of national road No. 1 and the increase in support from China in the rice sector with a view to increasing its productivity. Mr. Sinzohagera said.

Note that the executives of the Burundi Senate, those of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation for Development as well as those of the Chinese Embassy in Burundi attended the said exchanges.
