BUJUMBURA July 7th (ABP) – The governor of Bujumbura province (western Burundi) Mr. Désiré Nsengiyumva, launched on Wednesday July 6, 2022, at the Gatumba IDP camp located at SOBEL, at the thirteenth crossroads of Maramvya, the vaccination campaign during the mother and child health week, an activity which was honored with the presence of Miss Burundi Kelly Ngaruko, a check by ABP revealed.

Governor Nsengiyumva and Miss Burundi administered albendazole tablets for the deworming of children from one year to 14 years old and pregnant women and Vitamin A to children from 6 to 59 months against Blindness.

Miss Burundi 2022 Ngaruko indicated that she joined the provincial and health authorities in that activity because she is a native of that province and has a health promotion project for mothers and children, because, without good health, there can be no development, she insisted before promising that she would come back to talk about that project.

In his address, Governor Nsengiyumva recalled that the vaccination campaign is the right time to improve human health. With good health, development follows, he added, asking mothers and children to get vaccinated.

He appealed to administrative officials, local associations and religious denominations to help mobilize people who are not won over, for the success of that campaign.
