KAYANZA April 27th (ABP) – The graduates of Musema high school in the Butaganzwa school district of Kayanza province visited that school on Saturday April 23, 2022 and donated 80 mattresses to the management of their former school.

Were present the president of the supreme court, the senior officers of the Burundian army and police, a deputy elected in the district of Muramvya province and many other authorities who attended that high school, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

On behalf of the winners of that high school, Mr. Télesphore Ntamatungiro said that they collected contributions until they reached a sum of money equivalent to 80 mattresses. He further clarified that this gesture is part of a recognition of their former school.

On that occasion, he called on the graduates of the Musema high school to do everything possible to lend a hand to the said school and restore its image.

To the pupils who have benefited from these mattresses, he urged them to take care of them in order to allow their little brothers and sisters to use them in the future. He also invited them to worry about knowledge instead of focusing on the results obtained in class. For Mr. Ntamatungiro, the results will allow them to advance in class while the knowledge will intervene in the accomplishment of their missions in everyday life.

For their part, whether the provincial director of education in Kayanza, Mr. Désiré Hatungimana, or the governor of this province, Mr. Rémy Cishahayo, they all welcomed this gesture and took the opportunity to ask the winners of the other schools of the province of Kayanza to follow in the footsteps of those of the Musema high school. For Governor Cishahayo, that would help address some challenges that haunt the education sector. Given that this school is generally faced with the challenges of dilapidated infrastructure, those who spoke have not ceased to ask that its winners come back to look into it.

Belonging to the Union of Baptist Churches of Burundi, the Musema high school opened its doors in 1948 and today has 670 pupils, it is reported. It should also be noted that it was an opportunity to reward the students who were ranked first during the second quarter and the latter received envelopes of encouragement.
