School officials are called on to closely monitor teachers’ activities to improve school performance

MAKAMBA January 6th (ABP) – The governor of Makamba province, Mrs. Françoise Ngozirazana, along with the provincial director of education Mr. Sem Nimpaye, gathered the school officials on Tuesday January 4, 2022 at the high school of excellence based in Makamba, in order to assess the results from the first term and set goals to improve school performance, during the 2nd and 3rd terms of the 2021-2022 school year, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

Mrs. Ngozirazana asked those school officials to closely monitor the activities of teachers, avoiding being absent or being late for service.

She invited them to manage their school entities efficiently.

They are called on to administer their schools by talking to village leaders and village natives to solve some of the school’s challenges.

Regarding the lack of school benches, the governor indicated that the government has promised the province of Makamba trees from which they will extract planks that will be used to make benches.

Mrs. Ngozirazana further asked school principals to grow at least 300 trees on school property, to familiarize children with environmental protection.

To strengthen the culture and awaken the talents of the pupils, she asked the sports supervisors to work in collaboration with the socio-cultural adviser to the governor, to organize sports and cultural competitions in different schools, while the provincial directorate will have to continue to organize provincial tests at all levels.

To curb the lack of teachers especially post-basic teachers, Mr. Nimpaye said that they plan to merge nearby schools with small numbers, asking natives of the province to contribute to have textbooks from the 3rd to the 6th as well as for the fourth post-basic cycle classes newly initiated in some schools.

Finally, the governor of Makamba asked school officials to collaborate with the branch of the red cross, to have hand washing devices, in order to protect children against Covid-19.
