Covid-19 testing places have been increased in Bujumbura City

BUJUMBURA December 20th (ABP) – The national committee responsible for the fight against the spread and contamination of Covid-19 in Burundi met on Thursday, December 16, 2021 in Bujumbura, following the observation of the increase in positive cases, the Minister of Public Health and the Fight against AIDS, Mrs. Sylvie Nzeyimana, told reporters.

During a press briefing, Mrs. Nzeyimana said the committee looked at measures to be taken to curb the spread of the pandemic.

She said that at the end of the meeting, the national committee responsible for the fight against the spread and contamination of Covid-19 in Burundi made the decision to increase the testing settings in Bujumbura City Council and its surroundings, in order to reduce long queues of people awaiting to be tested.

According to the minister responsible for public health, in addition to the already existing testing sites, there are the Ngagara health center, the Mutakura health center, the Rubirizi health center, the Kanyosha health center, the Musaga health and the Kamenge university hospital center commonly known as Roi Khaled.

During the press briefing, Mrs. Nzeyimana took the opportunity to advise the people of Burundi to be calm and to observe at all times and in all places the barrier measures against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Finally, she asked the people living in the city of Bujumbura to avoid unnecessary travel to other provinces and those in the interior of the country are called upon to do the same towards the economic capital.
