Launch of rehabilitation works on the RN3

RUMONGE November 26th (ABP) –Official launch on Thursday, November 25 in Rutunga of rehabilitation works on the RN3: Rumonge-Gitaza section. The ceremonies were enhanced by the presence of the Prime Minister of the Government, Mr. Allain-Guillaume Bunyoni accompanied by the Minister in charge of infrastructures in his attributions.

In his speech for the occasion, the Prime Minister indicated that the RN3 rehabilitation project is part of the framework of facilitating trade to promote the development of the people.

Asphalt roads are costly according to the Prime Minister, specifying that the budget allocated to the works to rehabilitate the distance of 45km from the Gitaza zone to Rumonge commune, amounts to 66 million USD, an aid granted by the African Development Bank (AfDB).

Thus, he asked the people to maintain this donation well by avoiding carrying out activities within six meters on both sides of the road.

The Prime Minister also thanked the ADB for its help, adding that the government of Burundi remains grateful for the support and accompaniment of the ADB in the field of road infrastructures.

Supervisors, especially those of the Burundi Road Agency and the surveillance house, were called on to be vigilant by closely monitoring the company responsible for carrying out the said works in order to check whether the various relevant provisions of the contract are respected.
