The Head of State of Burundi has inaugurated various infrastructures and launched the construction works of the presidential office on the occasion of the 15th edition of the Torch of Peace 2021

GITEGA November 18th (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye, launched Wednesday before noon the opening activities of the 15th edition of the Torch of Peace 2021 by the inauguration of various development infrastructures built in the communes of Bukirasazi and Gitega, and by the launch of the construction works of the presidential office in the walls of the Gitega Palace.

That series of inaugural works for development began in the commune of Bukirasazi where President Ndayishimiye inaugurated a pediatric building at the Espoir hospital in Kibuye in the presence of several personalities from the country including MPs and members of the government as well as responsible for this hospital.

That pediatric building which has a capacity of more than 120 beds was built by the Free Methodist Church with the financial support of the United States of America.

The Head of State received a donation of a Frisian cow offered by the officials of the Espoir hospital in Kibuye.

The President of the Republic of Burundi continued in the morning of Wednesday the activities of the 1st stage of the official launching ceremonies of the Torch of Peace 2021 by the inauguration of the Gitega headquarters Oil Station located in the Masanganzira district on the outskirts in the north of downtown.

That work belonging to the economic operator Apollinaire Hakizimana also houses a meeting room, a bar restaurant and a kitchen. Mr. Hakizimana gave a cow to the head of state.

President Ndayishimiye also inaugurated the Isango hotel in the Bwoga I district built by the economic operator Claudoir Majambere.

At those different infrastructures, the Head of State visited the various services and places. He also signed in the guest books.

After that series of inauguration of development works, Mr. Ndayishimiye also launched the construction work of the presidential office in the room of the Gitega Palace in the presence of the Minister in charge of Infrastructures and several personalities including some members of the government.

Note that the official launching ceremonies of the 15th edition of the Torch for Peace 2021 are scheduled for Wednesday evening at the Ingoma stadium in Gitega during a cultural vigil.
