RUTANA November 17th (ABP) – A torrential rain mixed with hail and strong winds that fell in Nyamure village in Gitaba zone, Rutana commune and province (south-eastern Burundi) caused a lot of material damage, according to the Gitaba, zone leader, Mr. Savin Nibizi.
That rain fell around 2:30 p.m., according to Mr. Nibizi, indicating that the wind blew the roofs of 22 private homes in the peace village of Butomangwa, as well as that of a classroom at the Basic School of the place.
Even crops have been damaged. That rain fell after a period of more than two weeks without a drop falling, causing the crops to start to dry up. According to the people of that locality, that adds drama to drama.
