MAKAMBA November 2nd (ABP) – The police in Makamba seized, on the evening of Wednesday, October 27, 2021, 111 douana-type loincloths in Muyange in Nyanza-Lac commune.

Those loincloths were in the bags that contained cassava transported in a truck that had food and vegetables on board from the Mabanda market, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

The provincial police commissioner in Makamba, Mr. Emmanuel Manariyo, indicated that they received information from an individual in good faith that there is a truck carrying fraudulent loincloths, and he has instructed the police in Nyanza-Lac to stop this truck heading towards Rumonge.

It was this Thursday, October 28, 2021, that the police decided to drive this truck to the capital of Makamba province, and after investigations, they found those 111 loincloths wrapped in two cassava bags called “kambaranga”.

The driver and his attendant indicated that they did not know that these two cassava bags contained those loincloths.

A person who would be the owner of these loincloths as well as the driver and his attendant were arrested for further investigations.
