GITEGA August 6th (ABP) – The people of the urban center of Gitega (center of the country) continue to relax in the implementation of barrier gestures to prevent and fight against Covid-19, in violation of the related instructions from the ministry responsible Public Health, a check in Gitega by ABP has revealed.

The situation thus arises when the provincial platform for the fight against Covid-19 of Gitega deplored, on July 4, 2021, the exacerbated spread of the virus in that administrative entity.

In some centers such as the central market of Gitega, the bus station of Masanganzira, shopping galleries and restaurants, hand washing is not respected. Sometimes we observe buckets of water but people pass by without washing their hands; sometimes we also observe buckets without water and / or soap. We also observe people who exchange kisses, huddle together or gather together, in violation of social distancing, one of the barrier gestures recommended by the aforementioned ministry. A similar situation can also be observed in local drink marketing bars where customers enter without washing their hands or drink from the same cup or using the same blowtorch. Contrary to that situation, the above-mentioned barrier gestures are respected in banks and microfinances.
