RUTANA August 4th (ABP) – As part of the supervision of schoolchildren on vacation at the headquarters of the province of Rutana (south-eastern Burundi), two executives in physical education and sport, teachers at local schools, have organized a summer camp for children aged between 6 and 13 that they introduce to certain sports disciplines such as football, handball and basketball, a check in Rutana by ABP has revealed.

According to Mr. David Nisubire, one of the two executives who organized that activity for young children, the aim is to help parents supervise their children on vacation so that they prevent them from being indulged in regrettable acts. In addition, it is to help those children develop talents to be exploited in the future when they enter the fourth level of basic or post-basic school. In addition, those children are trained to lead socially healthy lives, to collaborate with others and to seek competence without resenting the adversary.

Those children show up at the Karindo football pitch on odd days from 9 a.m. to noon and the initiation to those sports is organized in 2 groups, one for children from 6 to 8 years old and the other for children from 9 to 13 years old.

This is the fourth time that this kind of camps has been organized and each time without any support from anyone, said Mr. Nisubire who indicated that a sponsor from the parents on the one hand and from territorial administration on the other hand would be welcome. To parents, he first asks for a good understanding of the merits of that activity and to be consistent. To the administration, he asks for support in terms of use materials and notebooks to give to children who will have actively participated in that camp.
