The Bumamuru Fc team won the President’s Cup

KAYANZA June 8th (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, Major General Evariste Ndayishimiye, in the company of his Better Half Angéline Ndayishimiye, launched on Saturday, June 5, at the Gatwaro stadium of the Kayanza commune and province (north), the kick-off of the President’s Cup final.

He was also in the company of the Chairman of the Burundi Football Federation (FFB), Mr. Révérien Ndikuriyo, Burundi’s Ombudsman Edouard Nduwimana, and other personalities.

The Bumamuru Fc team from Cibitoke province won the President’s Cup after scoring 3 goals to 1 against the Flambeau du centre from Gitega (3-1) in that final played in Kayanza.

For the first time in history, Bumamuru Fc will represent Burundi in the confederations cup organized by the African Football Confederation, 2021-2022 edition.

That team crowned champion of the President’s Cup thus received an envelope containing money amounting to 7,500,000 BIF in addition to a cup. Its first runner-up – Flambeau du centre –, received 5,000,000 BIF, while the Musongati Fc team from Gitega and Vital’o from the Bujumbura city council, respectively third and fourth, each received a sum of 3,000,000 BIF.
