Approval of the bylaws and internal regulations that will govern the microfinance of the national police of Burundi

BUJUMBURA May 27th (ABP) – The Minister of the Interior, Public Security and Community Development held on Tuesday May 25, 2021 in Bujumbura, a constitutive general assembly for the analysis and adoption of the bylaws and internal regulations governing the establishment and operation of a Microfinance of the National Police of Burundi (PNB), “MICROPOL”, a check by ABP revealed.

According to the Minister responsible for Security, Mr. Gervais Ndirakobuca, MICROPOL will help many police officers and their respective families to solve some problems they encounter in different banks and microcredit institutions, stressing that with that MICROPOL they will derive more advantages from it compared to other banks.

After adoption, Mr. Ndirakobuca continued to say, the bylaws of MICROPOL will be sent to the Bank of the Republic of Burundi (BRB) to acquire an approval and after, the bodies designated to ensure the administration and supervision of the latter will be meeting to start the operation, Mr. Gervais Ndirakobuca reassured.

He did not forget to point out that this MICROPOL was formed for the well-being of police officers, support staff working at the PNB level and for associations of police officers.

In article 3 of its internal regulations, MICROPOL specifies that the membership of members is free and voluntary and that the number of members is not limited.

Note that within the scope of MICROPOL, it is provided in its internal regulations a share capital of 803 million Burundi francs.

It is worthy to recall that those bylaws and internal regulations governing that MICROPOL were approved by 117 police authorities among the 118 present at that general assembly.
