The President of the Republic of Burundi received in audience the special envoy of the government of the People’s Republic of China

GITEGA, June 4th (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, Mr Evariste Ndayishimiye, received in audience the special envoy of the government of the People’s Republic of China for African Affairs, Mr LIU Yuxi, at the palace in Gitega (in the center of the country) on Friday.

The special envoy of the Government of the People’s Republic of China, Mr LIU Yuxi, told the press that he had come to convey to the President of Burundi the invitation to the next summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), which will be held in Beijing in September. That will be a major meeting bringing together Chinese and African leaders to discuss friendship and cooperation.

He pointed out that during their discussions, they came back to the very fruitful friendship and cooperation between China and Burundi. According to Mr Liu Yuxi, they were all very satisfied with the many cooperation projects that continue to be carried out in various areas of national life, including infrastructure, agriculture, health and training.

Finally, he pointed out that China will continue to deepen its friendship and cooperation with Burundi, as well as with other African countries.
