BUJUMBURA, June 7th (ABP) – The First Lady of Burundi, Mrs Angeline Ndayishimiye, received Mrs. Violet Kenyana Kakyomya, the new United Nations Resident Coordinator in Burundi, on Monday 3 June in Bujumbura 2024.

At the end of the meeting, Mrs. Kakyomya said that it was the first time she had met the First Lady since her appointment to her new post in Burundi a few weeks ago. She had therefore come to introduce herself and, above all, to thank the First Lady for the work she has done to promote Burundi’s development.

It was also a question of reviewing all that the 1st Lady is doing, particularly in the field of women’s health, children’s health, activities relating to the development of youth, activities under women’s leadership, etc.

Mrs Kakyomya said she was very impressed by the achievements of Burundi’s 1st Lady, which are generally in line with the goal of leaving no one behind for sustainable development.
