GITEGA March 21st (ABP) – The CNDD-FDD party celebrated Saturday March 16 at the Ingoma stadium in Gitega (center of the country), the 3rd edition of the national day dedicated to women affiliated with that party “Umukenyererarugamba day” in the part of International Women’s Day, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

That day was celebrated under the theme: “Umukenyererarugamba, your contribution to increasing production is essential for a Burundi-emerging country in 2040 and developed in 2060”.

Those ceremonies were enhanced by the presidential couple, accompanied by various executives of the CNDD-FDD party, including the Secretary General and the Deputy Secretary General of that party, the members of the Council of Elders, the national secretaries of that party, the executives of the government from that party, representatives of political parties approved in Burundi and delegations of political parties in power from different African countries, notably Tanzania, Zambia, Equatorial Guinea, Congo and Zimbabwe.

The ceremonies were enhanced by a long parade of Bakenyererarugamba, Imbonerakure and Ibiswi vy’inkona girls. In the front row were the wives of the executives of that party, starting with the First Lady of Burundi, Mrs. Angeline Ndayishimiye.

The Secretary General of the CNDD-FDD, Mr. Réverien Ndikuriyo, in his speech, informed the President of the Republic, who is also president of the Council of Elders of that party, that during the work of a scientific conference organized by that party, the Bakenyererarugamba are committed to contributing effectively to achieve the 2040-2060 vision. Mr. Ndikuriyo also reported that soon, the CNDD-FDD party will begin to mentor the party’s youth (Ibiswi vy’inkona) whose age is between 10 and 17 years old in order to help them grow with a vision. “That will allow them to be responsible in their daily lives,” he said. He did not fail to point out that that party will soon put in place a plan which characterizes a developed household because, according to him, all development must imperatively begin in the households, then on the census hill, the zone, the commune, the province and finally the country.

Speaking, the President of the Republic of Burundi, Mr. Evariste Ndayishimiye, declared that he is happy that the women of the CNDD-FDD party are committed to supporting the 2040-2060 vision. To that end, he called on Burundians to avoid laziness, to take ownership of the 2040-2060 vision, to work diligently in order to have financial autonomy in their families, to carry out family planning to reduce births, etc. He also invited the Bakenyererarugamba to review the education of their children according to Burundian culture because, he stressed, science without conscience is only ruin of the soul.

Note that he did not forget to urge all Burundians, particularly women, to support him in his campaign to make the country clean by promoting cleanliness within households and their surroundings.
