The Prime Minister returned from Zanzibar

BUJUMBURA January 19th  (ABP) – The Burundian Prime Minister, Gervais Ndirakobuca returned to the country on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from the island of Zanzibar, in the United Republic of Tanzania where he represented the Head of the State in the ceremonies marking the 60th anniversary of the independence of that island.

In an interview with the media at Melchior Ndadaye International Airport, he said that after those ceremonies, he was able to visit different places which served as slave sales points, fields of medicinal plants planted by residents of Zanzibar and those which were planted by the slaves themselves. The Prime Minister said that those places have transformed into tourist sites which currently attract many visitors.
