CANKUZO, December 27th (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye, along with his family and various members of the government, attended the Mass marking the opening of thanksgiving prayer for the end of the year 2023, which was celebrated at the Sainte Thérèse Parish of Cankuzo.
In his homily, Bishop Blaise Nzeyimana said that the year 2023 was full of God’s grace, adding that everyone must give thanks to God and believe in him, for much grace that He continues to provide them with.
The Bishop of the Diocese Ruyigi deplored that there are still corrupters, thieves and lazy people who undermine the development of the country. He urged them to change their behavior. He did not fail to urge the people to forgiveness and reconciliation.
The President of the Republic, for his part, asked God to give the people of Burundi the spirit of solidarity and love of labor, for the prosperity of the country.
It was an opportunity to inaugurate the presidential palace based in the headquarters of Cankuzo province.
