BUJUMBURA, December 26th (ABP) – As part of the assessment of the socio-economic and security situation, the Head of State brought together on Thursday, December 21, in Karusi province, the executives of the quadrilogy, namely those of the ministries responsible for the interior and public security, national defense and justice, a check by ABP revealed.
During an interview with the press, the spokesperson for the Burundi Head of State, Mrs. Rosine Guilène Gatoni, indicated that the meeting participants noted that, in general, security is quite satisfactory throughout the country except for some irregularities relating to theft, rape and the vicious destruction of crops.
As an illustration, the governor of Karusi province Mrs. Dévote Nizigiyimana reported two cases of rape of mentally ill people. One gave birth to twins last month while the other is pregnant.
The Head of State declared himself satisfied with the efforts made by everyone to tighten security. All cases of fraud or security problems have been seriously pursued according to the spokesperson for the President of the Republic.
