MAKAMBA December 21st (ABP) – The Head of State, Mr. Evariste Ndayishimiye, proceeded, Monday, December 18, 2023, to the presentation of the new governor of Makamba, Mrs. Tantine Ncutinamagara, at the Makamba provincial stadium, a check on the site by ABP has disclosed.
After listing the qualities of a good leader, which he must, among other things, think about for the well-being of the population and know how to delegate power, President Ndayishimiye advised the new governor to be courageous and unite the population around a common interest.
The Head of State thanked the population who contribute to maintaining peace and security along the border with the United Republic of Tanzania as well as the Democratic Republic of Congo. Saying that that population will have to work consistently to increase production to have enough to eat and money, he calls on the population to carry out the campaign of drawing contour lines to protect arable land so the country will have clean water thanks to the infiltration of rainwater. That campaign will go hand in hand with the planting of forest and agro-forestry trees. He advises the population to help improve the national economy by paying taxes and above all to fight against fraud.
The governor of Makamba, Mrs. Tantine Ncutinamagara, accepted that she will communicate and collaborate with the heads of service, carry out raids to respond to the grievances of the population, enforce the codes and laws in force in Burundi, strengthen the good neighborhood between the Makamba province and the Kigoma region of Tanzania, contribute to the protection of the environment as well as work together with the natives to develop flagship projects that can contribute to the development of the province. Note that the new governor was appointed, by presidential decree, in October 2023, to replace Mrs. Françoise Ngozirazana.
