GITEGA September 8th (ABP) – Burundian senators recommended to the Minister of National Defense and Veterans, Mr. Alain Tribert Mutabazi, to adopt the strategy of military and technical cooperation leading to specializations of the military in military equipment manufacturing technologies.

The recommendation was issued on Wednesday September 6, 2023, in Gitega, the political capital of the country, during a plenary assembly which resulted in the unanimous adoption of the bill ratifying by the Republic of Burundi the agreement of military and technical cooperation between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Burundi.

It was Minister Mutabazi who represented the Burundian government to defend the said bill to senators and answer their questions.

For senators, we must aim to leave routine military training abroad to embrace specific expertise training.

Furthermore, they recommended negotiating the transfer of skills to be able to benefit them, on site, to a large number of soldiers.
