Inauguration of school infrastructure built by the NGO Welthungerhilfe

KIRUNDO September 6th (ABP) – The non-governmental organization Welthungerhilfe organized on Friday, September 1, 2023, an activity for the final reception of a block of four classrooms and two blocks of six latrines, with a value of 180 million Fbu, built for the extension of the Burara basic school in Busoni commune of Kirundo province (northern Burundi), with a view to relieving overcrowded classes.

In addition, those classrooms are equipped with 100 desk benches, or 25 benches per class.

With a view to strengthening hygiene conditions, rainwater collection systems (SCEP) made up of four tanks of 5000 liters each were installed.

The governor’s socio-cultural advisor, Mr. Jean Baptiste Kwizera, welcomed that work accomplished and specified that the Welthungerhilfe organization is a great partner in the education sector.
