During that meeting, the BPEAEs took turns presenting the main achievements which characterized the growing season C, in particular the establishment of vegetable gardens.

In Mwaro province, the price of potatoes rose from 1,400 BIF to 750 BIF per kilo, due to satisfactory production of that crop, illustrated the director of the provincial office of agriculture and livestock in Mwaro province.

The same ministry, together with the FOMI Company, is also asked to properly resolve the issue of the distribution of “Doromi” type fertilizers to the beneficiary provinces.

Concerning corn seeds, it is recommended that the ministry monitor corn seed suppliers and give a precise deadline for the arrival of these seeds.

Communal agronomists are asked to carefully check the lists of applicants for organo-mineral fertilizers so that their requests are compatible with their agricultural fields, insisted Mr. Ndirakobuca.

Verdict, the Prime Minister called for close collaboration between administrative officials and executives of the Ministry of the Environment, Agriculture and Livestock, in order to pull the people towards Burundi emerging in 2040 and developed in 2060, as recommended by President Ndayishimiye vision.
