The Prime Minister has received in audience the ambassadors of the Netherlands and Italy to Burundi

BUJUMBURA July 3rd (ABP) – The Prime Minister of the Republic of Burundi, Mr. Gervais Ndirakobuca, received in audience, on Friday, June 30, 2023, two personalities namely the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Burundi, Mr. Jeroen Streeghs, and the Italian Ambassador to Burundi, Mr. Massimiliano Mazzanti.

After the audience, the Spokesperson for the Prime Minister, Mr. Moïse Nkurunziza, indicated that the meeting between the Prime Minister and the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Burundi focused on the relaunch of ties of friendship and cooperation. He pointed out that Mr. Streeghs returned to the potentialities and opportunities offered to Burundi and which could not only benefit all investors but also stimulate friendly countries which want to help Burundi achieve real development. That diplomat commended the vision of the President of the Republic, “Burundi emerging in 2040, and Burundi developed in 2060”. He also promised that he will plead with his country to support that vision, Mr. Nkurunziza underlined.

The Italian Ambassador to Burundi, for his part, pointed out that their discussions focused on, among other things, the strengthening of the health sector, agricultural mechanization and the certification of products made in Burundi to facilitate their export. He took the opportunity to invite Burundi to support Italy in the ceremonies of Expo 2023 which will soon be organized.
