Burundi Prime Minister has returned from a working mission to Paris

BUJUMBURA June 27th (ABP) – The Prime Minister of Burundi, Mr. Gervais Ndirakobuca, returned on Monday, June 26, 2023, from a working mission to Paris in France, where he had represented the President of the Republic, Evariste Ndayishimiye, at the Summit of Heads of State, Organizations and International Banks, for a new global financial pact, chaired by France President Emmanuel Macron,

In his interview with the press, Prime Minister Ndirakobuca indicated that the Summit aimed to study together the fight against poverty under the theme “No country can remain in poverty”.

On the sidelines of the Summit, the developed countries suggested to the developing countries to always put in place measures to fight against poverty, climate change and the environmental protection and living beings, which, according to them, contribute greatly to the development of countries, he said.

A committee will be set up to follow the clauses of that Summit, in order to remedy that problem.

They also agreed to increase the financing that will intervene for the developing countries, in what is called the “draw” for those countries to move forward in the development sector”, the Prime Minister revealed.

He did not fail to point out that he also had the opportunity to meet with Burundians residing and exercising their daily functions in Paris. Their discussions focused on the state of development in Burundi. They commended the step taken by Burundi in the field of development and pledged to contribute, the Prime Minister underlined.
