MAKAMBA April 4th (ABP) – The secretary general of the CNDD-FDD party, Mr. Révérien Ndikuriyo, with parliamentarians elected in Makamba province, provincial and communal secretaries of the said party in Ruyigi and Makamba, administrators, heads of services and economic operators, carried out community work in Kigoma at the Consulate General’s Office under construction, a check in Kigoma by ABP has revealed.

The construction site which will serve as the office and residence of the Consul General of Burundi in Kigoma and his staff is of three floors. The work began in late July 2022 at an estimated cost of two billion shillings from the Government’s own funds.

The governor of Kigoma, Mr. Thobias Andengenya, who joined the Burundian delegation in that work, said he was satisfied with the bilateral cooperation existing between Burundi and Tanzania in general and that of the Makamba and Kigoma provinces in particular. The relations forged by the good neighborly agreements between the bordering provinces of Burundi in the Kigoma region will total 20 years in 2024.

To consolidate this good neighborhood, Mr. Ndikuriyo indicated that the Pax Burundi Foundation will organize a football championship for the under 15s and 17s of the Burundian and Tanzanian teams.

For her part, the governor of Makamba, Mrs. Françoise Ngozirazana, indicated that peace and security are consolidated on the Burundian-Tanzanian border, thanks to that good neighborhood.

The construction managers have told the check by ABP that they expect to complete the activities in September 2023. The roof is already finished. It remains to erect the walls to continue with the finishing work.
