Return of the Prime Minister from Gabon

BUJUMBURA March 7th (ABP) – Burundi Prime Minister Gervais Ndirakobuca returned on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from his work mission in Libreville, Gabon, where he had represented the President of the Republic of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye at the high-level segment of Summit on forests.

On the sidelines of the Summit, the Prime Minister indicated that a meeting of Heads of State was first held in camera. The participants in the meeting agreed to work together to ensure the protection of forests in that region, since forests are the source of our breath, he said.

After the meeting, he continued to say, a second meeting took place and was attended by the French President, Emmanuel Macron, where different experts were also invited. Mr. Ndirakobuca pointed out that according to those experts, the forests have the wealth and the latter has a great value in the economic growth of our country.

Mr. Ndirakobuca also pointed out that he had the opportunity to speak with Burundians residing and performing their daily duties in Gabon. Their discussions focused on the state of development in Burundi and they welcome the step already taken in the development sector.

He further added that those Burundians are truly characterized by unity and some of them have already pledged to bring their capital to Burundi so that they can contribute to the development project.
