RUTANA February 15th (ABP) – A detainee from the central prison of Rutana province known by the name of Innocent Niyidukomeza escaped at the night of February 9 to 10, 2023, as confirmed by the director of the said prison, Mr. Fréderic Ndayisenga.
That prisoner come from Bukemba commune and is 28 years old. To escape, he first removed an iron sheet of the roof, then climbed to the top of the wall to descend behind it using a knotted rope made from the fabrics of a mosquito net, to finally run away.
Mr. Ndayisenga indicated that an investigation into the reason for the escape and the destination of that inmate is already underway.
