Some 2,500 seedlings have been transplanted on Kirika hill

MURAMVYA January 31st (ABP) – About 2,500 eucalyptus tree seedlings were transplanted on Saturday, January 28, 2023 during community work carried out on Kirika hill in Mbuye commune. The work was attended by the governor of the Muramvya province and the technician within the national program Ewe Burundi urambaye, who is the deputy of the provincial godfather of that program.

In their speeches, the governor of Muramvya province and the deputy of the program Ewe Burundi urambaye, they gave the people advice related to capacity building on the importance of the environment protected by trees and contour lines in order to save farmland. People were called upon not to waste their harvest in order to fight against hunger.

Governor Nzambimana mobilized the people against the places known as ligalas, sources of banditry and other forms of crime. People of Mbuye were also asked to start implementing the new policy related to keeping at least five rabbits per household and do this as a competition with other communes of Muramvya province.
