BUJUMBURA January 9th (ABP) – A good secretary is characterized by professional secrecy. This was said on Thursday, January 5, 2023, by Professor M. Astère Ndayisaba during a presentation on the qualities and skills of a secretary.

It was during a training session for central and decentralized administration secretaries, organized by the Ministry of National Education and Scientific Research.

According to Mr. Ndayisaba, the quality secretary is characterized by rigor, flexibility, discretion, availability, dynamism and the ability to adapt. He added that a good secretary is someone who is trustworthy, helpful, punctual and organized.

A good competent secretary is noticed through communication, organization, time management, reliability and confidentiality.

In addition, he specified that certain secretaries display faults which must be recognized and corrected. These secretaries are stubborn, shy, emotional, talkative, impatient and slow.

Regarding the difficulties encountered by a secretary, Mr. Ndayisaba cited in particular the personal affairs of the boss, the printing of documents, the digitization as well as the filing.

He took that opportunity to ask the secretaries present to be honest and humble in their service.
