No more COVID-19 test requirements for travelers entering or leaving the country

BUJUMBURA January 9th (ABP) – From now on, travelers entering or leaving the country will no longer be required to submit the COVID-19 test. This is the content of the press release issued on Thursday January 5, 2023, by the Ministry of Public Health and the Fight against AIDS.

In that press release signed by the Minister of Public Health and the Fight against AIDS, Dr Sylvie Nzeyimana, it is indicated that for travelers entering Burundi, “the test for COVID-19 is no longer required at the various ports of entry (air, land, and lake)”. As for travelers leaving the country, the press release specifies that “the negative PCR test is only required for those who go to countries that require it before entering their territory”.
