KAYANZA January 3rd (ABP) – The Northern Scout Region, through the Umuco group, organized on Saturday, December 31, 2022, the final of the competition called “Miss Kayanza”, which highlights culture, body beauty and the intelligence.
During that competition, eleven candidates were recently shortlisted and four of them were awarded depending on the place occupied, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.
During that competition also marked by modern and traditional dances, the candidates showed their techniques in relation to the fashion show before answering oral questions which go in the direction of clarifying their projects.
In the end, a certain Chanice Graciella Niyubahwe was crowned Miss Kayanza 2023 and received an envelope of one million Burundian francs. That had put forward a project relating to entrepreneurship.
Speaking to the media, she clarified that to participate in this competition, the girls must first love their province in particular and the country in general. She is committed to working tooth and nail for the success of her project. She promised to set up cooperatives and associations for young people and to develop the talents of some young people who do not know where to start to set up this or that other project.
At the end of that same women’s competition, three other candidates were elected for different positions. They are Misses Octavia Sandra Nkurunziza, Nina Kelly Inarukundo and Rahma Mbarushimana, respectively crowned as 1st runner-up, 2nd runner-up and popular miss.
In his occasional speech, the Governor of Kayanza, Colonel Rémy Cishahayo, congratulated the winner of the competition while pointing out that this competition is organized to prepare girls to serve the whole country. He promised his unwavering support while calling on the winners of the competition to work in synergy.
